Description of the Ground
The club's entrance is on Queens Drive, the seafront road. Visitors are often surprised to find a large fast-draining cricket ground with eighteen wickets when the surrounding area is mostly sand dunes. On entering the ground you are immediately struck by the pavilion on the opposite side of the ground below what was once the sea cliff and set alongside lime, chestnut and other deciduous trees. The playing area is large, allowing 65 metre boundaries and still having considerable capacity for spectators and members to drive onto the ground and watch the entertainment. The ground drains very quickly and matches often proceed on time even when the weather leading up to the match has been atrocious.
The clubhouse is on two floors, the ground floor consisting of changing rooms, showers and separate public toilets. The first floor consists of the bar and clubroom with a large open balcony regularly displaying large colourful hanging baskets. In addition there is a modern fitted kitchen and a committee/viewing room.
In the northwest comer of the ground is the equipment building with a spacious scorebox above on the first floor. Modern methods of scoring can be accommodated with a provision of telephone lines and electricity in the scorebox. To the rear of the scorebox are the club's tea hut and tea gardens. This facility provides players' and public refreshments with a good selection of meals available.
The club was successful in 1994 in securing lottery funding for an all weather enclosed practice area with three full sized nets situated in the north-eastern side of the ground.
